We were eating dinner tonight and just talking (the kids and I.)

Kai: KJ (what he calls Keely), my best friend is Aaron.
Keely: I have 2 best friends.
Kai: I have more but I don't know them names.
Keely: Well, they can't be your best friend if you don't even know their names.

This morning, I was driving Kai to preschool and we were playing a rhyming game. I started with "tree" and coaxed Kai into saying "see."

Me: What else rhymes with "tree?" When you go to the bathroom, what do you do?
Kai (very seriously): Hold my weenus.

Keegan, of course, wanted in on the game. I had started with "moat."

Me: What rhymes with "moat?"
Keegan: Cookie!

The other night, I dropped Keely off at her friend's house. Kai asked why he couldn't go.

Me: There are just a bunch of girls there. Do you want to play with a bunch of girls?
Keegan raised both hands and said: I do!

Kai asked me if I wanted him to sing a song before he went to sleep. I told him, "Sure!" He stood on his bed and sang and sang (something about "I know what to do... I KNOW what to do... I knoooooooow....") and when he was done, he jumped down and came over to me. He put his hand out to shake.

Kai: It was great to meet you.
Me: It was great to meet you, too. Do you give kisses to people you just met?
Kai: Yes.
(He gave me a kiss.)
Kai: I give kisses all week.

Keegan was playing with Kai's DS.

Kai: Mommy, will you time Keegan up?
Me: Time him up?
Kai: Yes, will you time Keegan  up?
Me: What is that?
Kai: Mommy, say, 'time'
Me: time
Kai: 'him'
Me: him
Kai: 'up', time him up. When I play KJ's DS she always time me up so her can play.
Me: Okay, I'll time Keegan up.

Yeah, so I'm still not sure what he means.

PSU/Alabama was on tonight.

Kai: Mommy, I saw number one! Did you see number one? I saw it! (talking about the QB for PSU who wears the number one jersey)
Me: What's number one?
Kai. One. It's one, Mommy.
We were watching the Penn State vs. Alabama football game tonight (yikes! PSU was thumped!) and the Alabama mascot was on the tv screen. Keegan ran up to the tv and said, "Daddy! Daddy!"

Me: That's an elephant, Keegan.
Kai: Mommy, that's a soup. There's a man in that soup. It's a soup. It's not real, Mommy.

Kai got up this morning and went to the Farmer's Market with his Grandpa and Grandmother. As I was taking a shower, Kai came in to tell me about it.

Kai: Mommy, I went with Grandma and we got cookies. Grandma picked out KJ's cookie and I picked out a bus cookie for Keegan and I picked out a bus cookie for me. Grandma said there were kids on the bus.
Me: Did you eat the cookie?
Kai: Yes.
Me: Did the kids taste good?
Kai: No! (pause)   Actually, them did.

Kai: (looking into my eyes) Can I have cereal? Ha! Ha! Your eyes are green!
Me: What color are your eyes?
Kai: Hmmmm... green.
Me: No they aren't.
Kai: Yes dem are. Can I go check?
Me: Sure.
Kai runs upstairs and looks in the bathroom mirror.
Kai: My eyes are white and yours are green.
Me: Your eyes aren't white!
Kai runs back into the bathroom.
Kai: My eyes are black!
